Calculate a new field (a.k.a. variable or column) of population per healthcare facility for each NYC community district using the Field Calculator tool

0:00-3:16: View the shapefile you created in the last tutorial using the Attribute Table. Open up field calculator, and define a new field named popperfac as a decimal data type of field length 10 and precision 1, calculated as population / healthfac to produce the number of people per healthcare facility.

3:16-5:14: Browse the results visually in the Attribute Table and by using the Statistical Summary tool to look at descriptive statistics of the new field.

5:14-5:58: Save the new field that you calculated permanently to the layer.
